Township of North Dundas Mayor Eric Duncan helped to officially open Winchester Pharmasave Sat., Sept. 9 alongside employees Gabriel Geurts, Jen Lecours, and Kevin Snell.
Staff at the newly-opened Pharmasave at Winchester Crossing on Main Street are betting that the village is more than capable of making a second pharmacy successful.
An official opening event took place Sat., Sept. 9, a little more than a week after the shop quietly began operation.
“We’re excited to be here, and we’re hoping we can offer a product people of the area deserve,” lead pharmacist and store manager Gabriel Geurts said. “We aim to provide a clean, comfortable space for our clients. So far it has been great, and we’re very happy with how well received we’ve been.”
Pharmasave is just the latest to open in the development west of Winchester’s downtown, following on the heels of Pet Valu and Foodland, and coming just a few weeks ahead of Dollarama.
Geurts noted that the 2,200-square-foot space will carry a variety of items typically seen in a pharmacy, as well as giftware and fashion accessories. As for the medication dispensing, he noted the focus is on clinical services, providing medication reviews, and administering inoculations such as flu shots.
In total, the front of the store has four employees, led by Jen Lecours, and two pharmacists and an assistant.
Winchester Pharmasave is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM — 7:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM — 4:00 PM.
